Frequently asked questions

How do I contact Crafty Kids Wirral?

The best way to contact us is by clicking 'Book a place' and leaving a message, or you can email us at craftykidswirral@hotmail.com. We aren’t always available to take phone calls due to work or family commitments, but if you prefer to chat you can provide a phone number and we will call you back at a mutually convenient time.

What ages are the activities suitable for?

Usually, our events are most suitable for 3-8 year olds, but younger children can still join in with a bit of adult help, and older children are welcome if they would enjoy it.

We occasionally run more simple or more complex activities that are suitable for a younger or an older age range, please see our events page for more details.

If you wish to book Crafty Kids Wirral for a private event we will design activities appropriate for the age range of your guests, which could include activities for babies, or even adults.

How do I book on to an event?

If you would like to book a place, click on 'Book a place' and fill in our booking form. You can also email us at craftykidswirral@hotmail.com, or send us a message through Facebook, if you prefer.

Let us know:

  • Which session you would like to come to (Date, location and session name)

  • The names and ages of any children who will be attending (including babies and younger siblings that may not be participating)

  • The names of any adults who will be attending

  • If applicable, any additional needs that we may need to cater for (i.e. any disability or allergies).

How many children can I bring?

Larger families and childminders are most welcome, and as long as we have space you can bring as many children as you like. However, those who have brought 3 or more children (especially young children) on their own have commented that it can be hard to support all the children, as they may have different interests and will tackle activities at different speeds. Also if the session is busy, it can be hard to find a group of 4 or more chairs together at one table. But we have a number of solutions to help:

  • There are at least two members of staff at each session that can help support the children with the activities.

  • You are welcome to stay a bit longer at the end of the session to make sure you complete all the activities.

  • You are welcome to take some of the resources home to complete another time.

  • You can position yourself between two tables, allowing two children complete one activity and two complete another, then switch them over.

  • If you are really struggling, let a member of staff know and we will find you a space, or set you up in your own space.

How many adults can I bring?

It is important to inform us of any adults who will be attending a session because we allocate seats for the adults as well as the children. However, this means that the more adults we have, the less children can attend. So we would be grateful if you could limit the number of adults you book, bringing the smallest number possible for your child / children to still enjoy the session. Only in exceptional circumstances can we allow more than one adult per participating child.

Do adults need to stay for the session?

Adults MUST stay for the session. Crafty Kids Wirral are only responsible for the activities, and NOT the children participating. As per our terms and conditions, the accompanying adult is responsible for their child’s behaviour and wellbeing, and must ensure their child is supervised at all times. It is also the accompanying adult’s responsibility to judge the suitability of the materials and resources we provide, taking into account any allergies, or their child’s individual needs, skills and preferences. At the end of the session anything made during Crafty Kids should only be used under direct adult supervision. It is the adult’s responsibility to judge that each item is safe and suitable for play purposes.

How much does Crafty Kids Wirral cost?

At most of our events, for children aged 3 and over, it is £6. Thi gives you total access to all activities (painting, playdough, sticking and colouring – but you can often do more than one project at each table).

For younger children (aged 2 and under) who would like to join, you can pay the full price to do all the activities, or a discounted price of £3 to do two of the activities (usually painting and playdough).

We also have a small area with a few toys and games that is free of charge.

We run a few special events through the year where activities may be as little as £1 or even free! See our events page for details of our upcoming events.

What happens if I need to cancel?
